HOW TO WASH AND IRON LACE

 

 

 

Cantù Lace is a delicate fabric that requires special care when washing. Here are some recommendations for washing linen and Cantù Lace properly:

 

Read the labels: be sure to read the labels on lace garments to see if they can be machine-washed or if they should be hand-washed.

2.Use a mild detergent: choose a mild detergent to avoid damaging the fabric.

 

3. Use cold water: use cold or lukewarm water to avoid shrinking or damaging the fabric.

 

4. Do not use bleach: avoid using bleach or other harsh chemicals on linens and Cantù Lace.

 

5. Do not use the dryer: avoid using the dryer to dry lace garments, as the heat may damage the fabric.

 

6. Iron gently: if necessary, iron lace garments gently using a damp cloth over the lace or fabric; the iron should not be too hot. It is advisable to iron while it is still damp; remember to treat both the obverse and reverse sides in this way. 

 

7. If you must iron sheets or blankets, use the kitchen table so your garment will have few creases.

 

8. Store properly : Store lace garments in a cool, dry place, away from heat and direct light.

 

N.B. : Marelli gives one last tip, especially in small garments such as centers or borders, it is recommended after ironing to spray some sizing.

 

In general, it is always advisable to follow the care instructions given on the garment label to avoid damaging Cantù Lace. In addition, it is advisable to have it washed by a laundry specializing in delicate fabrics, so as to ensure the utmost care and attention to the fabric.
