The Peace Symbol: a dialogue between art and tradition
A logo inspired by the Cantù Lace that celebrates human connection and the beauty of uniqueness.
A symbol is born that combines traditional craftsmanship with modernity, telling the story of peace through a universal language. This new logo, inspired by the Cantù Lace, reinterprets the ancient art of lace to represent the imprint of humanity: unique, indispensable and interwoven with the world.
At the center of the design is a symbolic void, representing man as the beating heart of global connection. The flowing, harmonious lines surrounding it recall fingerprints, celebrating the individuality of each person as a fundamental part of a whole. Each thread is a story, each space an invitation to cohesion.
“This symbol tells of peace as a network of relationships, an interweaving of differences that come together to create a greater harmony,” say Mr. Marelli, creators of the project.
We invite everyone to discover the symbol and reflect on its meaning by sharing thoughts and ideas through our website. Peace is a thread that unites us all.
Cantù, 2025 — The “Pizzo di Cantù for Peace” project continues to grow with extraordinary numbers. This cultural initiative brings together art, craftsmanship, and international dialogue through bobbin lace — a historic symbol of the Cantù tradition.
To date, the dedicated page on the website www.pizzodicantu.it has recorded over 143,000 views, Marelli Pizzi confirming the project as one of the most visited and widely shared initiatives in the contemporary lace panorama.
The project is entirely free and open to anyone who wishes to create it, interpret it, and spread a message of harmony through their own creativity.
During 2025, the works of the following artists were exhibited:
Agnese Molinelli, from Milan.
Ana Rosa Lista Sebe, from Santiago de Compostela,
Marcela Susanna Toledo, from Trapani.
Additional works are expected to arrive in the coming months. This is an exhibition path that continues to grow and involves both Italian and international lace artists.
The project is rooted in a simple and profound conviction:
art has the power to overcome borders, cultures, and differences, creating a ground for encounter and reconciliation.
Art and peace demand nothing: they only ask to be heard, to be brought into harmony with people and communities.
In a time marked by division, bobbin lace becomes a slow, shared, symbolic gesture — capable of uniting hands and ideas from all over the world.
The project remains open, inclusive, and available to anyone who wishes to contribute with their artistic vision.
“Peace with craftsmanship” refers to how the art of craftsmanship can promote values of peace and harmony.
Craftsmanship represents a work of art made with skill and dedication, reflecting a deep commitment to quality and beauty. In a world increasingly dominated by mass production and technology, craftsmanship offers an antidote, creating unique and meaningful objects that tell stories and cultural connections.
